| 北海道余市町：年に一度の記念撮影が記録する時の経過 | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 余市町は1988年以来スコットランドのイースト・ダンバートンシャーと姉妹都市関係を結んでおり、中学生を中心に交流が進められています。植樹式は2002年9月7日､余市宇記念館前で行われ、ニール・フック英国総領事夫妻らが参加しました。 余市町では、2002年の植樹式に参加した町の幼稚園の子どもたちを集めて、毎年一度オークとともに記念撮影を行っています。これらの写真を見ると、オークもさることながら子供たちの成長がありありと分かります。 The town has had a sister city arrangement since 1988 with East Dumbertonshire, Scotland, and has a youth exchange programme mainly by junior high students. The oak tree was planted on the Rita Road to commemorate a Scottish lady, Rita, who was married to Masataka Taketsuru of Nikka Whisky. It has been an annual event since the plantation of the Green Alliance oak to take pictures of the kindergarten children who attended the plantation ceremony in 2002. These pictures give the message of the passage of time, showing the growth of not only the tree but also the children.
